How do I register and apply?

Register your interest in all or any of the three different roles on the ‘Register your interest’ form. You will then be sent an email asking you to apply. You will need to complete an online Application form and Equal Opportunities Monitoring form and email your CV to ncs360@changeagents.org.uk

You will then hear if you have been successful at the Application stage. Unfortunately if you have been unsuccessful you will not be contacted, however you are welcome to call 01572 725842 to get feedback on your CV and Application form after the 12th March 2012.

 

What do I need to do to apply?

You will receive an email that links you to the Application form and Equal Opportunities Monitoring form.

What documentation do I need to apply for a vacancy?

You will need proof of legal entitlement to reside and work in the UK for the full duration of the Opportunity i.e. a passport and/or work permit. More information can be found here.

After the interviews and if we offer you a role you will be asked to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check, you are not required to pay for this however you will need to provide documents and previous addresses, more information can be found here.

 

What is the application deadline?

When you register your interest you will be emailed asking you to apply and this will give you a two week deadline. However the final deadline for all applications is the 27th February 2012 at 5pm and no applications will be accepted after this date.

 

Where and when are the Interviews?

The interviews will be held in Leeds City Centre. You will be expected to attend a half day recruitment session on the 9th or 10th March 2012. We are not able to reimburse interview travel expenses. If this means you would be unable to attend the Interviews please do contact ncs360@changeagents.org.uk we may be able to assist.

 

What will the interviews involve?

The interviews will include a short set of questions in the ‘traditional’ interview style, role play and team exercises; these are all designed to ensure we get the right candidates and that the roles are right for the candidates.

 

How long is the summer job?

The Wave Coordinator and the Team Facilitator roles are 7 weeks in length. This is broken down into two days of induction between the 12th-15th April 2012, three days of flexible training and preparation for the start of the role. In addition to this you will have a 6 week block or ‘wave’ of work in the summer 2012.

The Team Supporter role is 3 weeks in length. This is broken down in to two days of induction between the 12th-15th April 2012, three days of flexible training and preparation for the start of the role. In addition to this you will have a 2 week block or ‘wave’ of work in the summer 2012.

 

When will the Job Start?

The Induction Days are fixed either on the 12th-13th April 2012 or the 14th-15th April 2012 and you will need to specify your preference for these dates.

 

You will be asked which start date is most appropriate for you and we will try to ensure you get that date. These wave dates may be subject to slight changes.

 

Where will I be based for the Wave?

Induction Days: You will need to be in Leeds the morning of the two day induction – there will then be transport to get to the Peak District.

Web based training: You will need to attend web based training during April and May.

Wave Phases:

Dare – Based in the Peak District (Food and Accommodation is provided)

Discover - Based in the Peak District (Food and Accommodation is provided)

Develop – Based in an allocated community in Yorkshire, we will try to meet your requirements on location where possible.

Do - Based in an allocated community in Yorkshire, this will be in the same community as Develop phase.

 

How does your recruitment process work?

Your CV application is examined by our NCS 360 team, using the selection criteria. A shortlist of candidates will be contacted and receive a 15-20min telephone interview during the weeks following your deadline. The latest date you may get a Telephone Interview is 2nd March 2012.

If you have not heard from us by 2nd March 2012 for a Telephone interview, unfortunately you will not have been successful in your application. After the telephone interviews, we perform a final shortlisting to select candidates for the face-to-face interviews on the 9th or 10th March.

 

What kind of training do you offer?

You will receive two days of training specific to your role on either the 12th-13th April or 14th-15th April. In addition to these two days there will be online training to attend. You will receive training and professional development:

  • to strengthen your leadership and team working skills
  • to support young people through the NCS 360 phases
  • to improve your communication and critical thinking through facilitating varied youth activities
  • to build upon your organisation and time management skills
  • to increase your youth sector work experience and knowledge 
  • to support two weeks of residential activities in the Peak District
  • that will encourage networking with like-minded organisations and individuals

 

What is the consortium?

Change Agents UK is working as part of a consortium of four like-minded youth organisations (Envision, Co-operative Colleges and Woodcraft Folk) to deliver the NCS 360 programme involving residential-based activities, community action and skills development.  The programme has a vision based on co-operative values, a shared commitment to quality youth provision and building sustainable communities and active citizens.
